Beraban Tourist Village

Submitted by on Monday, 30 June 2008No Comment

Beraban Village is located in the cluster of rice fields belonging to Aseman Subak up to the fringe of the Indian Ocean. From the downtown of Tabanan city, it is 20 km – 40 km west of Denpasar. This tourist village was inaugurated on 8 June 2001 by the then Minister for Culture and Tourism. this village was established based on the concept of “seaward-mountainward.” In other words, the village has a magnificent beach along with the most extensive spread of rice fields in the Tabanan territory. To the north, tempting bluish hued mountain views are discernible. Several farming activities can be observed when spending time in the village. For instance, there are farmers ploughing their land by means of traditional farming tools (employing cows), and planting rice in mutual assistance. Watching the splendour of the rice harvesting ritual is also worthwhile and yet, the most unique. Witness the ritual procession commencing the harvest season.
