Villa Bukit Naga

Submitted by on Saturday, 21 June 2008No Comment

Villa Bukit Naga is a dream home – a luxurious, contemporary dwelling that majestically marries Balinese form and function. Nestled amid 2 acres of brightly colored local flora, shady palms and frangipani trees, the complex features five buildings, three of which are guest providing exceptional accommodation for up to 12 people.

The interiors of each building have been carefully fashioned by local craftsmen using Balinese hardwoods, marble and stone and are furnished throughout with Chinese and Indonesian antiques, to give distinct character and charm. No expense has been spared to offer our guests every conceivable comfort and convenience, whilst ensuring that peace and privacy prevail.

The estate overlooks a lush tropical valley in which the Sang Sang and Ayuverda rivers converge. It has views to the west of the slopes of three of Bali’s majestic volcanoes, whilst away to the East one can catch glimpses of the holy Mount Agung.

The emphasis during your stay is one of tranquility and relaxation. Our Villa Manager and his ten staff (including a resident chef, waitress, housekeepers, driver, gardeners and a security guard) will take care of your every need and are all very keen to make your stay a special one.

Bukit Naga is a perfect base from which to explore the many facets of this fabulous island. Expert guidance is always at hand to offer advice on all aspects of your holiday, from shopping and sightseeing to spiritualism and serenity.

We know you will be pleased with your time in the flowery lands that are “Bukit Naga”.
Accommodation

Villa Bukit Naga sleeps a total of 12 guests in 6 spacious suites and comprises a one-bedroom guest villa, a huge two-bedroom guesthouse, as well as the three-bedroom main house. All suites are fully air-conditioned and feature private dressing rooms and large marble bathrooms. Imposing hand-made two-metre square Balinese beds, luxurious cotton sheets and fine denier mosquito nets ensure an excellent night’s sleep. All bedrooms and bathrooms have telephone lines for IDD calls and in house call.

The main house
The two ground floor bedrooms are identical in size, and both feature indoor as well as outdoor showers set in an ornamental garden. There are acres of hanging space in the well-appointed dressing rooms, while individually controlled air conditioning units and powerful ceiling fans keep the rooms pleasantly cool. A double staircase leads up to the master suite, occupying the whole of the first floor of the house. Exquisite touches in the master suite’s interior design make it a very special place to stay: the bathroom and dressing room are very spacious, and adjacent to a comfortable office and book library. There is direct access from the suite to a large open-air cocktail lounge and bar area with ample seating on Balinese sofas for all guests. Whether it be for sun-downers or snoozing, this comfortable area affords spectacular views over the valley below

Two bedroom villa
Ideal for a family of four or two couples sharing, this two-story private house is the ultimate in self-contained luxury. The ground floor features the huge master suite, a marble floored living room, private bar and gymnasium. A hardwood spiral staircase leads up to the second bedroom, with a large balcony offering stunning views over the river valley and to the mountains beyond. This delightful suite is set a few metres from the Main House and sleeps two people in privacy and comfort. A large balcony looks over the lush jungle of the river valley below where guests often take breakfast, afternoon tea, or just a nap on the comfortable day bed.
The dressing room and bathroom are tiled in green Javanese marble and lead out to a wonderful secluded garden with a ‘jungle Jacuzzi’. High walls surround the villa, making this suite the ultimate retreat for those seeking privacy and peace.

Location

Villa Bukit Naga is situated on the outskirts of Banjar Selat – a quiet, traditional Balinese village approximately 20 minutes east of Ubud, the cultural and artistic capital of Bali.
Ubud boasts many fine restaurants (amongst these ‘Mozaic’ must rate as one of the finest eating establishments in the southern hemisphere) and also offers fantastic shopping, where jewellery, ceramics, paintings, traditional fabrics, and antique and reproduction Indonesian artifacts can be purchased at very reasonable prices.
To the East, the resort of Candi Dasa is a 45-minute drive. An hour to the west lie the more popular sands of Legian or Canggu Beach and some very fine beachfront restaurants. For those wishing to explore further inland, the villa is ideally placed for trips to Kintamani and Lake Batur. Additionally the Bali bird and reptile park is a 30-minute drive away. White water rafting and an Elephant safari are also within easy reach of the villa.
