The Balinese Gamelan usually performs for religious occasions, but can also perform for simple entertainment. There are many varieties of Balinese Gamelan, each of them associated with a certain ceremony. For example, Gamelan Angklung are for the Ngaben or Balinese Cremation ceremony; Gamelan Gender Wayang accompany the Wayang Kulit or Shadow Puppet show.

gamelan descriptions
A gamelan is a traditional musical ensemble featuring drums, gongs, bamboo flutes, metallphones, and xylophones. The gamelan is found in many parts of Indonesia, including Java, Bali, and Lombok. The word “gamelan” is Javanese and means “to strike or hammer”, a name that derives from the manner in which most of the instruments are played.
