Le Mayeur museum

Sanur beach is the most beautiful and attractive recreation for tourists. In the history of " Puputan Badung"( Badung War ) on 18 Nopember 1906, it was the anchorage harbour of the Dutch troops to attack the King of Badimg. Sanur beach was proclaimed by a foreign painter, A.T. Le Mayeur. He came to Bali in 1937 because of the beauty of Sanur Beach, he then decided to live permanently on this beach by building a place
to patent. LeMayeur married his model girl, named Ni Polok. She was also a dancer who had been famous at that time. Le Mayeur gallery are full of paintings and interesting books which are kept in a building with Balinese architecture. It was too difficult to get a canvas to paint at that time so he used traditional cloth made of woven jute to paint. Le Mayeur passed away in 1959 in Belgium and his gallery was then given to the Indonesia

Gedung Arca / Statue Museum

Identification and point of attraction This Museum. of Statue is a field archeological museum. It has been built since 1960 under the supervision of Bali’s Archeological Regional Office and was opened for public in 1974. In this building there is a collection of archeological remains dated back at pre-History of Bali.
Location
This Museum is located between Pejeng and Bedulu village, by the side of the road to Tampak Siring. The distance from Penataran Sasih temple to the Museum is about 400 m. There is a lot of domestic and foreign tourists visiting this museum. They visit this place in order to look at the archeological remains or for domg a research.

Description
Among the collection of pre-Historical remams, there are also some stuffs made of stones, bones and so forth, the most attractive sight is some sarchopaguses originating fron-i several places m Bali. In general the sarchopagus as are in the form of turtle, having bulges at its sides and decorated with a mask showing a big overlooking eyes, open mouth or joking with its tongue coming out. Other collection/ among other things are some bronze statues, etc.
